Where the project started, a rough and ready coffee farm, difficult to manage but beautiful in its wild layout; bananas grow wild throughout the farm, other fruit trees are spread around as if planted at random, the coffee plants planted, some by hand and others by the natural cycle of life, falling from trees and growing free from human interference. Here is where we produce much of what is used in the other farms.

At the peak of the Tecapa volcano, the farm enjoys the benefits not just of the fertile soil found in volcanic regions, but also the climate needed for the slow cherry development that gives coffee here some of the best flavours in the world.

Located in the El Bálsamo Mountain Range of Tamanique, La Libertad, Comasagua spans 200 manzanas of rich agroecological terrain flanked by natural rivers and native ecological reserves. Across its 70 active coffee manzanas, the farm features a blend of heritage heirloom varieties and resilient young plantings growing under a lush 85% natural forest canopy. Blessed with 12 natural water springs and deep sandy-loam soils, we are guiding the estate through an intensive organic restoration—focused on soil conservation, selective shade regulation, and regenerative crop nutrition to unlock its full specialty coffee potential.
